Bill O'Brien, has a lot on his plate this season. Sanctions keep scholarship numbers down. The ever-present threat of injury or departure keeps tensions high. O'Brien has said on numerous occasions that the offseason has brought with it a better understanding of personnel and skill sets. But what kind of numbers is O'Brien working with? Here is Penn State's roster by the numbers.

37: Underclassmen currently on Penn State's spring roster.

6: True freshman. 

15: Players in their last year of eligibility. 

4: State College natives.

20: Players under six feet tall.

11: Players 6-foot-5 or taller.

7: Players over 300 pounds

21: Players gained or lost five or more pounds this offseason.

16: Players gained five or more pounds.

5: Players lost five or more pounds.

13: Starters Returning (Tied for 7th in the conference, 58th overall nationally)

8: Offensive starters returning

5: Defensive starters returning

9: Starters Lost

3: Starters lost on offense

6: Starters lost on defense
