Penn State Football: 2016 Targets Begin To Take Shape As Recruiting Continues
Penn State started off the 2016 recruiting class this weekend with four-star running back Miles Sanders giving his verbal commitment to James Franklin and his staff.
With the first prospect in the bag for Penn State, Franklin and company wasted little time getting more offers out this weekend following a junior skills camp held on campus. While a number of offers are floating around to 2016 prospects already, here are three of note coming out of the weekend.
Lavert Hill: Michigan Defensive Back. 4-stars
Offers: Illinois, Miami, Temple, NC State, North Carolina
Terrance Davis: Maryland Offensive Guard. 4-stars
Offers: Maryland, Florida State, Illinois, Alabama
Jarret Guarantano: New Jersey Quarterback. 4-stars
Offers: Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, Arizona State
Penn State's 2016 recruiting will certainly be an interesting one to watch after the 2015 class which looks to be a Top 5 class nationally. Early playing time will continue to decrease as talented players make their way to Happy Valley and a season or two of struggles as the program transitions out of sanctions could turn some recruits away.
If Franklin is able to keep things headed in a positive direction there is no reason Penn State can't pull together another impressive recruiting effort.
