Penn State and James Franklin are flexing their recruiting muscles as the Nittany Lions flipped Pittsburgh commit Kevin Givens on Tuesday.

Givens', an Altoona native and outside linebacker has been committed to Pitt since February of 2014. The three star prospect was the third commit in Pitt's 2015 recruiting haul, flipping less than 24 hours before signing day.

Rivals.com ranks Givens as the 23rd best prospect in the state. He becomes Penn State's 11th commit from within the keystone state this cycle. Before committing to Pitt, Givens had offers from the likes of Temple and Western Michigan, but he committed to Pitt early in the process which helped limit the number of offers.

Givens was later rated one of the top linebackers in WPIAL which is one of the best high school football conferences in the state.

Penn State's recruiting class is now maxed out at 25 strong. Givens is actually the second Pitt commit to flip to Franklin and company in the last week after three-star tight end Nick Bowers did the same.

The 2015 haul for Penn State is still ranked 12th nationally and second best in the Big Ten by the 247 Sports Network. As the first full class under Franklin and his staff it is an impressive collection of talent on both sides of the ball with nearly all of it coming from the recruiting footprint Franklin is hopeful to dominate.

National Signing Day officially starts Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m when verbally committed players can fax in their letter of intent, binding them to their university of choice. From there it's full steam ahead for their senior seasons and eventual collegiate careers.
