A former State College High School teacher faces new felony charges for allegedly attempting to have some of his female students send him nude photos.
Wesley Amy, 27 of Bellefonte, was arrested back in November after the parents of one his students reported Amy's alleged crimes to the school. He was charged with misdemeanor corruption of minors and felony distribution of sexual materials to minors, but he now faces additional felony charges.
According to a criminal complaint filed Monday, Amy has now also been charged with sexual abuse of children and unlawful contact with a minor.
Police say that Amy would attempt to have female students give him nude photos through conversations in person and over social media. Amy allegedly offered to give the girls higher grades in classes or to allow them to skip the final exam in exchange for the photos.
State College School Area School District Superintendent Bob O'Donnell has previously told StateCollege.com that he notified the Pennsylvania Department of Education of Amy's arrest in November, and that the department revoked his teaching license.
