Incumbent Mike Hanna (D-Lock Haven) topped Republican challenger Stephanie Borowicz in a closely fought race to win his 14th term in the state house for the 76th District.

In the 81st District, incumbent Rich Irvin (R-Spruce Creek Township) had an easier time retaining the 81st District of the Pennsylvania House, defeating Democratic challenger Rick Rogers of Mount Union by 28 percentage points.

Hanna defeated Borowicz -- a pastor's wife, mother and former fourth grade teacher -- by a margin of 52.1 percent to 47.9. The 76th District includes part of Centre County and all of Clinton County. Borowicz won the vote in Centre County with 4,953 votes to Hanna's 4,911 in unofficial vote tallies. But Hanna carried Clinton County 7,959 votes to 6,887.

Irvin, meanwhile, defeated Rogers 63.8 percent to 36.2. The 81st District includes parts of Centre and Mifflin counties and all of Huntingdon County. In Centre County, Irvin garnered 4,925 votes to Rogers' 4,193.
