Penn State linebacker Manny Bowen will miss the Nittany Lions’ bowl game for the second season in a row.
According to coach James Franklin at Penn State's bowl media day on Friday, Bowen will not play in Fiesta Bowl. Bowen, was suspended for last season’s Rose Bowl, and did not play in the Nittany Lions’ final three regular season games against Rutgers, Nebraska and Maryland.
Franklin has not expanded beyond the motivation for Bowen missing so many games aside from stating a violation of team rules. Bowen has 51 tackles to his name so far this year.
Asked if Bowen would be with the team in 2018 and beyond, Franklin simply restated that Bowen would not be available for the bowl game and nothing more.
