Three-star offensive tackle Grant Toutant became the first member of Penn State’s 2020 recruiting class Saturday afternoon, just before Penn State’s regular season finale against Maryland.

Toutant, from De La Salle Collegiate in Warren, Mich., chose Penn State over offers from Wisconsin, Duke, Indiana, Pitt and others. He also had interest from in-state powerhouses Michigan and Michigan State

Rated the No. 10 prospect in Michigan for 2020 by 247 Sports, Toutant received a scholarship offer from Penn State in October and made an unofficial visit on Oct. 27 for the Nittany Lions' game against Iowa game. He also is visiting Penn State this weekend.

Toutant told Michigan’s SBNation outlet last month that he valued Penn State for its “consistent offense and high academic support.”
