Jonas Brothers Bringing 'Happiness Begins' Tour to Bryce Jordan Center
James Franklin got his wish.
A little more than 12 hours after the Penn State football coach tweeted to ask when the Jonas Brothers would be returning to Happy Valley, the Bryce Jordan Center announced on Monday the pop band would make a stop at the campus arena as part of its "Happiness Begins" world tour.
The Jonas Brothers will visit State College on Sept. 4, one of five new dates added to a now 73-show North American tour, the band's first in six years.
Bebe Rexha and Jordan McGraw will be special guests for the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at Bryce Jordan Center ticket outlets and online through Ticketmaster. A discounted student ticket presale begins at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
The Jonas Brothers reunited earlier this year with the new single "Sucker," released in March and debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On April 5 they released the single "Cool" and performed it live for the first time that night during a surprise show at Champs Downtown in State College.
The surprise appearance came about from efforts by Joe Jonas — who is friends with several State College natives and has a history of visiting the area — to promote Champs on Twitter in a best college bar competition.
Franklin introduced the band at the start of the performance and invited them to return in the fall.
"Happiness Begins," the Jonas Brothers' new album, was released on Friday. The group last performed together at the Jordan Center in 2008, though Joe Jonas' band DNCE played at THON in 2017.
