Penn State's Ag Progress Days will be held Tuesday through Thursday at Rock Springs, and Ferguson Township Police are advising residents and visitors to expect heavy traffic and traffic pattern changes during the event.

"West College Avenue (SR26), Pine Grove Road (SR45) and West Whitehall Road will be extremely congested, especially during rush hours," police said in a news release. "Motorists are asked to expect delays and allow extra time for commuting. Using alternate routes is suggested."

Nixon Road will be closed between West Whitehall Road and Pine Grove Road from 3 to 7 p.m. each day. Local residents only will be able to access Nixon Road from Whitehall Road.

Access to the Pine Grove Mills Post Office will be limited to eastbound traffic from 3 to 7 p.m. each day.

extra personnel will be on duty to manage traffic congestion, but that delays are still expected. Drivers should allow extra time for travel, or if possible avoid the area.

"Police also remind motorists to be aware of police officers on the roadways directing traffic," the news release said. "They are there to keep traffic moving and cannot answer questions while on the roads. Please keep our officers safe by being attentive, slowing down, and not stopping to ask traffic questions."

Ag Progress Days hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center, 2710 W. Pine Grove Rd.
