Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Slide to No. 9 in College Football Playoff Rankings
Penn State comes in at No. 9 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings after falling to Minnesota 31-26 this past weekend on the road.
The Nittany Lions fall from the No. 4 spot in the rankings with a date against Ohio State just two weekends away. As for the Golden Gophers, they jumped from No. 17 to No. 8 following the upset.
Across the Big Ten it's Iowa coming in at No. 20 while Michigan and Wisconsin slotted in at the No. 15 and 14 spots respectively. Ohio State is the highest ranked team in the conference sitting at No. 2 after flipping down from the top spot following now No. 1 LSU's win over Alabama.
“You know, I think the biggest thing that summarizes the game is we did fight extremely hard for four quarters, had a chance to win at the end, but we had turned the ball over five times all year and we turned the ball over three times on the road against an undefeated team in the Big Ten on the road,” Penn State coach James Franklin said on Tuesday.
Penn State faces AP Poll No. 25 ranked Indiana this weekend before heading to Columbus to face Ohio State. The Nittany Lions finish out the regular season with a clash against Rutgers at Beaver Stadium.
