Getwireless.net, Central Pennsylvania’s leading provider of wireless broadband Internet access, announced today that is has acquired the assets of Fisk Internet Services, LLC, another State College-based ISP.  The purchase of Fisk I.S. expands Getwireless.net’s commercial customer base within Central Pennsylvania, including Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics and The Altoona Curve Baseball Club.  As a result of the acquisition, Getwireless.net will now provide WiFi service at Beaver Stadium, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, and Blair County Ballpark.

“We are very excited about the purchase of Fisk I.S. and the benefits it will bring to our  customers and our company,” stated Daniel Myers, President & CEO of Getwireless.net.  “Getwireless.net has been serving Central Pennsylvania residents and businesses since 1996, and we have grown steadily by providing reliable services our customers need at affordable prices.  Over the course of approximately three years,” Myers continued, “Fisk I.S. established a solid presence in the local commercial broadband market, targeting small to medium-sized businesses.  By working together, rather than competitively, we are now able to bring even more value to the local business community.   We believe that, with the additional resources Getwireless.net brings to bear, we can build on the firm foundation constructed by Fisk I.S in the commercial market.  We look forward to enhancing the services currently available to Fisk I.S. customers and continuing to expand our product line and our geographic service area.”

Brian Fisk, the founder and owner of Fisk I.S., has joined the Getwireless.net staff in a Sales Engineer capacity.  Mr. Fisk will continue to work closely with Fisk I.S. customers as they are transitioned to the Getwireless.net network.  In addition, Mr. Fisk will be actively involved in the continued expansion of the Getwireless.net network and the acquisition of new commercial customers.  A priorty for Mr. Fisk and Getwireless.net is to expand into the multiple location market, where connectivity between remote offices would greatly benefit a commercial customer who needs special connectivity for offsite backup or VoIP.
