A new rock station has emerged in the State College radio market.

"Eagle 98.7" -- at 98.7 FM, apparently under the call letters WEMR -- began airing Thursday with a variety of modern rock.

Operated by Results Radio on Clearview Avenue, the station appears to replace "WISH FM," a soft-hits, less-talk-format station that had been airing at 98.7 FM.

StateCollege.com will post additional details as they become available. Results also operates B94.5, a popular hit-music station at 94.5 FM in State College.

Two other commercial rock stations are based in State College: WQCK, "QWIK Rock," at 105.9 and 106.9 FM, and WBUS, "The Bus," at 93.7 FM. Magnum Broadcasting controls WQCK, which has studios off South Atherton Street. Forever Broadcasting controls WBUS, with studios off West College Avenue in Ferguson Township.
