U.S. presidential candidate and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum will make two public appearances Tuesday in Centre County, local political organizers confirmed.

The first is tentatively scheduled for roughly 3:30 p.m. at the Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair, in Centre Hall, county Republican Committee Executive Director Deb Flavin said. There, he's expected to meet and mingle with fair-goers.

Later in the day, Santorum is expected to appear at a private event in Toftrees. Then, about 7 p.m., Santorum will be at the HUB-Robeson Center -- on the Penn State University Park campus -- at a university College Republicans event.

That meet-and-greet event, in room 106, will be open to the public, organizers said. Santorum, a Penn State alumnus, was president of the College Republicans at the university for part of the 1980s, when he was a student.

Santorum will be in Centre County as he makes a fundraising-and-campaigning swing through Pennsylvania, though he's not expected to hold any money-raising events Tuesday in this county, said state Republican Party Vice-Chair Joyce Haas.
