The annual Penn State Homecoming blood drive, held Thursday, yielded 100 units of blood -- right on target with organizers' goal.
For more than a decade, local American Red Cross leaders have partnered with Penn State Homecoming leaders to host the annual drive. It's organized as part of Homecoming Spirit Week, during which students can earn "spirit points" in various activities.
Last year's blood-drive goal was 90 units of blood.
More information on local blood donation is available via http://psuredcross.org. StateCollege.com Managing Editor William Derrick attended Thursday's drive, held in the HUB-Robeson Center, and filed this video report, embedded below.
Penn State Homecoming weekend this fall is scheduled for Oct. 14 to Oct. 16.
