Penn State historian to be featured on 'Studio 360' Host Kurt Andersen will welcome Penn State historian Gary Cross to talk about all things cute on "Studio 360," to be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 16, on WPSU-FM. The program, which originally aired on Sunday, June 5, 2005, will examine an exhibition of Japanese art (filled with stuffed animals and wide-eyed children) put together by neo-pop art star and fashion designer Takashi Murakami. Distributed nationally by Public Radio International (PRI), the program also will feature research from scientists that suggest why humans love big, wide, innocent eyes, and a tour of "meeting cute" in romantic comedies. "I very much enjoyed adding my historical perspective to a wonderfully rich and thought-provoking program on the contemporary obsession with all things cute," said Cross. PRI's "Studio 360" with Kurt Andersen is a one-hour national radio program that brings a distinctive approach to creativity, pop culture and the arts. The program is a co-production of Public Radio International and WNYC, New York Public Radio.
