by on February 24, 2018 12:59 PM

State College boys and girls basketball traveled to Penn State Altoona on Friday night and both came home with District 6 Class 6A championships.

The Lady Little Lions opened the night with a 42-41 upset of top-seeded Altoona, keyed by 17 points from junior guard Lexi Risha.

With three players scoring 20 or more, the State High boys took control early and cruised to a 94-54 victory over Altoona. Drew Friberg had 23, and Tommy Friberg and Ryan McNulty each added 20. McNulty's night was punctuated by a monster alley-oop slam, which you can see in the video below.

Both teams now head to the PIAA playoffs, with the girls opening play on March 9 and the boys on March 10.
