SNOW SHOE — Alden Henrie, of Snow Shoe, has returned from racing in his third World Slalom Championships, held this year in Krakow, Poland, recently.

While he didn’t reach the finals or medal podium, he is satisfied with his last run on the 20-gate course where he didn’t receive any penalties.

In the first heat run, he slightly misjudged two gates to receive 50-point penalties on each, which put him at the bottom of the listing in 46th place with a 230 second run. His teammate, Micajah McCurry, of Denver, Colo., took this run in 39th place, scoring 125 seconds.

Those that didn’t reach the top 30 boats in the first heat were allowed another heat run.

In his second run, Henrie did considerably better with a score of 124 seconds, which put him in 21st place. However, that was not good enough to move on to the semi-finals as only the top 10 in that group moved on.

McCurry finished in 24th place with a 137 second run.

The winner of the second heat was Jules Bernardet of France with a score of 98 seconds.

This was Henrie’s third Worlds, the previous being at Bratislava, Slovakia, and Ivrea, Italy. Next year, the Junior and U23 World Slalom Championships will be at the Tacen, Slovenia course near Ljubljana.
