Seniors lead a talented State High crew

Senior leadership has kept the State High Little Lions’ perfect season rolling.

The Little Lions took down Cumberland Valley 70-56 on the road with help from senior Drew Friberg on Jan. 2. Ryan McNulty led the Little Lions to a victory over Carlisle on Jan. 5. The senior had a game-high 15 points in the 72-55 win.

State College remained victorious, defeating Central Dauphin at home on Jan. 9 by a score of 77-53.

Up next for the Little Lions is Central Dauphin East on Friday, Jan. 12.

St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy 

The Wolves earned a victory in Wingate in the schools' first-ever matchup with Bald Eagle Area on Jan. 3. R.J. Marsh led St. Joe’s with 23 points in the 70-58 win over the Eagles.

Behind Jack Mangene’s game-high 16 points, St. Joe’s blew past Harrisburg Academy on Jan. 6 by a score of 92-30.
MAC conference play also continued for St. Joe's. The Wolves traveled to Belleville on Jan. 9 to earn a victory behind Zane Thornberg’s 14 points.

St. Joe’s travels to Bishop Carroll on Friday, Jan. 12, in an effort to keep its three-game winning streak alive.


Penns Valley 

Bellwood-Antis was too much for Penns Valley to handle Jan. 3. The Rams were led by Logan Snyder in scoring for the 47-42 loss.

Penns Valley came up short in its next game by just four points against Central on the road. Central defeated Penns Valley, 40-36.

The Rams will look to get on track as the team travels to Clearfield on Friday, Jan. 12.

Phillipsburg-Osceola 

P-O took a loss at the hands of Brookville on Jan. 3, despite a strong scoring effort by senior Marcus Wisor. The Mounties fell 59-40.

P-O travels to Huntington on Friday, Jan. 12, for its next contest.

Bellefonte 

Caleb Rockey scored 14 points for Bellefonte, but the Red-Raiders fell 47-41 to Juanita on Jan. 3.

In a rematch with Mifflinburg on Jan. 8, Bellefonte was defeated 60-54. 

The Red-Raiders will next battle Central on Friday, Jan. 12.

Bald Eagle Area

The Eagles were unable to win a rebounding battle in a 70-58 loss to St. Joseph's on Jan. 3.

Another loss came Jan. 8 when BEA dropped an away game against Huntington, 82-56. Jordan Jones led the Eagles in scoring.
BEA will host Tyrone on Friday, Jan. 12.
