State College boys continue winning

Senior Drew Friberg helped lead the State College Little Lions to a win on the road against Central Dauphin on Feb. 2, scoring a game-high 25 points in the 69-61 victory.

The Little Lions continued their winning ways, running through Altoona at home, 87-56. Senior Brandon Clark led State High with 18 points.

The Little Lions host Williamsport on Friday, Feb. 9.


The Wolves took down Southern Huntingdon on Feb. 1, led by junior R.J. Marsh’s game-high 25 points.

In the second meeting of the year between Penns Valley and the Wolves, PV earned its revenge. After losing their first matchup, the Rams won the second time, 41-35. Wolves guard Jack Mangene posted a team-high 16 points in the Feb. 5 loss.


Rams junior Cameron Shaffer put up 19 points on Feb. 1 in a 45-35 win over Tyrone.

Huntingdon proved to be too much for the Rams on Feb. 2, though, and PV dropped the Mountain League game 51-26 on the road.

Senior Hunter Zimmerman and sophomore Logan Snyder each added six points for the Rams in the loss.

Penns Valley avenged an early season loss by defeating St. Joseph’s on Feb. 5. Sophomore Logan Snyder scored 14 points in the 41-35 victory.

The Rams head to Tyrone to take on the Golden Eagles on Friday, Feb 9.


P-O could not stop the Central offense Feb. 2, falling to the Dragons by a score of 69-46.

The Mounties will look to get back on track Friday, Feb. 9, as they travel to face the Bison of Clearfield.


Jaden Jones and Logan Fetzer added six points each in the Eagles' win over rival Bellefonte on Feb. 1.

On Feb. 2, despite 16 points from sophomore Jones, the Eagles fell to the Clearfield Bison, 64-46, on the road.

The Eagles will face Bellefonte one last time this year Friday, Feb. 9.


It was a big week of scoring for Bellefonte guard Ben McCartney.

The sophomore posted 17 in a loss to the Bald Eagle Area Eagles on Feb. 1, and came back out the following night to score a team-high eight points in a 48-44 loss to Tyrone.

Bellefonte then picked up a 48-40 win over Shikellamy on Feb. 5 behind McCartney’s 15 points.

The Raiders meet BEA again Friday, Feb. 9.
