STATE COLLEGE — The State College Area High School girls’ tennis team ran its record to 7-0, prevailing over visiting Lower Dauphin, 5-0, on Sept. 5.

“The girls did a nice job against a better team,” Lady Little Lions coach Jane Borden said. “We had a bit of a weather delay and started slowly, but they did a nice job of managing their matches.”

The Lady Little Lions have yet to drop a singles or doubles match this season.

Amelia Dodoo was pushed to take a second-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles to keep State College’s perfect streak intact, 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) over Julie Bramley. Kelly Vandem was a 6-1, 6-0 victor over Layne Musser at No. 1 singles, and Catelyn Janac topped Annie Hahnlen, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 2 singles.

In No. 1 doubles, Marissa Xu and Keya Ahrestani prevailed over Analisa Petrascu and McKenna Helder by a 6-0, 6-1 count. Sruthi Ramesh and Claire Zheng dispatched Lower Dauphin’s Chloe Hsing-Smith and Bethany Bonham, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 2 doubles match.
