DuBois Teen's Invention Reaches $1 Million In Sales

Wednesday, July 23, 2008 – updated: 8:02 pm EDT July 23, 2008

It all started as an idea at the dinner table.

Sarah Buckel, 15, noticed her friends used contact paper to decorate their lockers at school.

The paper would leave a sticky residue on the locker and often caused problems with teachers.

"I asked my dad if we could make something out of magnets," Buckel said. "That way it isn't messy and it can be reused."

Sarah's dad, Paul, owns Magna Card Inc., which makes products such as dry-erase boards.

The product quickly become popular and is sold at several national office supply chains.

Even with all the success, Sarah Buckel is looking for ways to make her product better.

"We're getting a lot of new designs," she said. "These designs will be more artistic than our first ones."
