Father, Son Accused Of Trying To Hire Hitman

Two Bedford County men who police said tried to hire a hitman appeared in court Wednesday.Police said 53-year-old Allen Bridges, who faced drug charges, and his son, 19-year old Jacob Bridges, wanted a witness dead so badly that they planned a murder for hire operation from inside the county jail.Undercover police said they discussed the plan with Allen Bridges over the phone. Further, they said they met Jacob Bridges for payment, which was a large supply of NASCAR memorabilia.Both were scheduled to appear in court Wednesday on solicitation charges.
