Judge Rules Local Police Lose Some Power

Somerset County President Judge John Cascio ruled that Conemaugh Township police have no arresting powers in Quemahoning Township.

He said this stands unless the Quemahoning supervisors pass an ordinance yielding coverage to Conemaugh Township police.

The Daily American reported that Cascio did reversed an earlier decision and will allow charges against two suspects arrested in Quemahoning Township to stand. However, evidence against them cannot be used.
