Milk Truck Overturns On Local Road

Wednesday, March 26, 2008 – updated: 6:12 pm EDT March 26, 2008

A milk truck overturned on Route 219 in Somerset County Wednesday morning.

Hazmat crews were on the scene to clean up the mess.

A large amount of milk from the load leaked into a drain that empties into Stoneycreek River, so crews said they had to take efforts to stop the unpasteurized drainage to the river before it caused harm to the fish or area wildlife.

Drivers encountered delays on the ramp at the Jerome exit throughout Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the truck suffered a minor injury.
