Obama Campaign Sets Up Office In Clearfield County

Wednesday, March 26, 2008 – updated: 7:24 pm EDT March 26, 2008

The Democratic candidates for president continue to battle for votes ahead of next month's Pennsylvania primary.

In DuBois, they're also battling for office space.

Sen. Barack Obama's campaign is already setting up an office downtown.

DuBois Chamber of Commerce officials said Clinton's campaign isn't far behind.

On Wednesday, the Clinton campaign confirmed that they have a tentative lease on a downtown office.

Chamber officials said the region should be an important area for the candidates.

"Some people think all we have are trees," said Executive Director Nancy Micks. "But, we have a lot of votes here."

Obama has 24 campaign offices across the state, compared with Clinton's 14.

But, the New York senator still holds a 10 percent lead in a recent Quinnipiac University poll.
