Police in Richland Township have been trying to track down whoever is behind a string of purse snatchings at the Wal-Mart in Richland Town Centre.

Investigators said they have surveillance video of a woman stealing a purse inside the store's McDonald's restaurant.

They also said she was with a young child and a man a the time of the theft. They said the woman could be the person behind numerous reports of similar thefts inside the store over the past 12 months.

Police said women need to be very careful at stores. They said shoppers should not put purses inside their carts because that's how the thieves have been getting away with it. When a shopper reached to grab something, they turned their back to the cart and the thieves took the opportunity to take the purse.
