ALTOONA, Pa. -- Logan Township supervisors held a public hearing Thursday evening about reworking the township's windmill ordinance.Township officials said the supervisors have been discussing the ordinance for a while because they've heard a lot of pros and cons from the residents about windmills. Although there are currently no turbines in Logan Township, Gamesa Energy has discussed proposals with the supervisors. However, they have not submitted any plans. The proposed ordinance would not prohibit windmills from coming into the township, but it would tighten the rules by limiting the height, noise and location of turbines. The windmill ordinance would also require environmental testing before turbines are constructed. The supervisors said their decision to vote on the windmill ordinance depends on what kind of comments they receive from the public.
