13th Annual Family Playground

The 13th Annual Family Playground will be set-up inside the Bryce Jordan Center on July 4th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. during the Central PA 4th Fest. The indoor playground will feature rides and games for the entire family. Rides include two giant slides, a mechanical bull, a surf machine, a moonbounce, a circus train, and a pit stop challenge. Unlimited ride passes are $9.99/person and individual ride passes are $1/ride. For more information and a complete listing of rides, visit the Bryce Jordan Center's website.

Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts Children's Day

The 42nd Annual Central Festival of the Arts will begin with Children's Day on July 9th in downtown State College and on the Penn State campus. The Children & Youth Sidewalk Sale will be held on South Allen Street. Art from children ages 8-18 will be on display from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Other activities will be set up for children in Central Parklet from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Workshops will also take place on the lawn of Old Main for children. The Children & Youth Grand Procession Parade will begin at 4 p.m. on the lawn of Old Main. The parade route will follow Allen Street to Central Parklet. Numerous live performances by various children's groups will take place throughout downtown State College. Central Pennsylvania 4th Fest

The annual all-day Independence Day celebration begins at 9 a.m. on The annual all-day Independence Day celebration begins at 9 a.m. on July 4th with the running of the Firecracker 4K. Family activities, interactive displays, food vendors, and live performances will be featured throughout the day on Curtain Road and in front of the Bryce Jordan Center. Activities at this year's celebration include a chain saw carving demonstration, a Nascar display, an inside family playground area, mini golf, a pyrotechnics demonstration, crafts, military equipment displays, and a climbing wall. The evening will conclude with a choreographed fireworks display at 9:20 p.m. General admission to most 4th Fest activities is free. An $8 donation is requested for parking in lots on campus to view the fireworks. For more information and a complete schedule of events, visit www.4thfest.org.

2008 Wedding Showcase

Altoona.com & StateCollege.com, in partnership with the Bryce Jordan Center, will host the 2008 Wedding Showcase Sunday, September 28th from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The show will feature numerous vendors, a fashion show, live seminars, etc.
