23rd Annual Last Cruise Car & Motorcycle Show

The 23rd Annual Last Cruise Car & Motorcycle Show will take place Saturday, July 26th at Mount Nittany Middle School. Car registration begins at 7 a.m. and ends at Noon; gates also open to the public at 7 a.m. The show will feature a business vehicle exhibition, classic cars & motorcycles, car seminars, military vehicles, motorcycle games, family activities, and food vendors. Awards will be presented at 4:30 p.m. 35 vehicles will then compete in the Best of the Best Show in downtown State College on Allen Street. Cars will cruise to downtown State College at 6 p.m. and will remain on Allen Street until 9 p.m. For more information about the car and motorcycle show or to register a vehicle, visit the show's website.


Centre Region Parks & Recreation's 5th Annual Splash, Pedal & Dash Youth Triathlon

Centre Region Parks & Recreation will host the 5th Annual Splash, Pedal, & Dash Youth Triathlon Saturday, July 26th. Children will be divided into the following age categories, 6-8, 9-11, & 12-13 and will compete in a swimming, cycling, and road race. Distances of each race vary depending on the age group. Events begin at 8 a.m. for the first age group at the William Welch Pool on Westerly Parkway. Children will be responsible for providing their own swimsuit, bike, tennis shoes, etc. Parents are expected to assist children with event transitions. Registration is $10/child in advance and $20/child the day of the event. For more information or to register, visit CRPR's website.

Runners and walkers are invited to compete in the 2nd annual 5K.  Registration is $20/person. Columbia Gas 2008 Summer Jazz Celebration

The Columbia Gas 2008 Summer Jazz Celebration will take place Saturday, July 26th from 11 a.m. - midnight throughout historic Bellefonte.  Scheduled performers during the day include The Tarnished Six, Penns Valley High School Jazz Band, Rick Hirsch, The Hammond Brothers, Bellefonte High School Jazz Band, Slide Zone, and Holy Smoke Blues Band.  All performances are free except the 7:30 p.m. evening concert at the Garman Theatre.  Tickets to the evening jazz performance are $10/person and will be on sale at the JazzPA Information Table on Saturday.  For more information and a complete listing of performances, visit
