Huntingdon County Fair

The 2008 Huntingdon County Fair will be held August 3rd-9th at the Huntingdon County Fairgrounds.  The fair will feature arts & crafts, livestock exhibits, a fair queen contest, rides, food vendors, a demolition derby, live performances, and truck pulls.  Admission into the fair is $5/adult and children ages 12 & under are admitted free.  Weekly admission passes can be purchased for $15.  Wednesday, August 6th, is Senior Citizen's Day at the fair; all seniors will receive free admission.  For more information about the fair or for a detailed listing of events, visit the fair's website.

The Last Splash Ceremony

Centre Region Parks & Recreation is inviting families to a free day of swimming Sunday, August 3rd at the Park Forest Community Pool. The free day of swimming commemorates 39 years of service for the pool's involvement in the State College community. The pool is closing early this season due to construction of a new swimming pool. There will be a brief ceremony at 6 p.m. followed by a last plunge into the pool. The pool closes for the season at 8 p.m. The new pool is scheduled to open next summer. 2008 Wedding Showcase &, in partnership with the Bryce Jordan Center, will host the 2008 Wedding Showcase Sunday, September 28th from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The show will feature numerous vendors, a fashion show, live seminars, etc.
