Bellefonte Arts & Crafts Fair
The Bellefonte Arts & Crafts Fair will take place Friday & Saturday, August 15th & 16th in downtown Bellefonte. The event will feature over 70 artisans, live entertainment, food vendors, and children's activities. Bands performing throughout the weekend include JP Rocks, The Original Cover Band, Bellefonte Community Band, Slide Zone, and The Sharptones. The Fair Information Booth will be located on High Street near the Diamond. A shuttle service will run from various locations in Bellefonte to the event. Admission is free.
Ag Progress Days
Ag Progress Days will take place August 19th-21st at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs, nine miles southwest of State College on Route 45. The three day agriculture event will feature horse workshops & seminars, a 4-H Youth Building, a corn maze, animal science seminars, a conservation tent, garden tent, and the PA Preferred Best Chef of Pennsylvania Competition. Saturday, August 16th Brew Expo 2008 Noon - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Penn Stater Tickets to the afternoon session are $45 and will be limited to 1,200 tickets sold. Ticket prices include a sampling of numerous PA micro-brews, regional & national beers, and classic imports. Also included in the price is an international food buffet. A special Connoisseur Session will be held in the evening and is limited to 400 guests. Tickets are $75 for the evening session. Thursday, August 21st Grange Fair Opening Day Grange Fairgrounds - Centre Hall The annual Grange Fair begins today. Highlighting today's activities are a draft horse show at 4 p.m. in the Horse Show Arena, the fair queen coronation at 7 p.m. and a performance by AC Express at 8 p.m. on the Grandstand Stage. Daily admission to the fair is $5/adult or $15/weekly pass. Children ages 11 & under are admitted free. Parking is $3/car.

2nd Annual Herbie's Hometown Loop
The 2nd Annual Herbie's Hometown Loop will take place Saturday, August 16th at the Bellefonte Middle School. The 4-mile run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and the non-competitive 16-mile bike ride begins at 10:30 a.m. New to the event is a 2-mile kayak event. Pre-registration is required for the kayak event but runners, walkers, and bikers can register for the run/walk and bike ride on Saturday. The annual event is held in memory of Bellefonte native Jeremy Herbstritt who was one of the victims in the Virginia Tech tragedy. For more information about the race, please call 383-9932.
