Penn State Football Eve & 2008 Season Opening Game
Penn State football begins this weekend with the annual Football Eve celebration
starting Friday, August 29th at 6 p.m. on Curtin Road outside of Beaver Stadium.
There will be food vendors, a barbecue, and children's games along Curtin Road.
The stadium opens at 7 p.m. for fans wishing to watch highlights of the 2007
season on the big screen. The pep rally inside the stadium begins at 7:45 p.m.
and will feature the Blue Band, Penn State cheerleaders, the football team, and
Coach Joe Paterno. Admission and parking are free for the Football Eve
celebration.
Penn State will play Coastal Carolina Saturday, August 30th at
Noon. Prior to the game, Penn State fans are invited to the Bryce Jordan
Center's indoor TailGreat pep rally featuring the Blue Band, cheerleaders, dance
team, and the Nittany Lion. Admission into the Bryce Jordan Center is free. For

Thursday, September 4th First Thursday State College Downtown State College Activities this month include a demonstration of wheel-thrown pottery at The Creative Oasis, a performance of Broadway showtunes at the Schlow Library by Singing On Stage, and a display of Polish Pottery by Peacock Pottery at Kitchen Kaboodle. The Twelfth Man Art Unveiling
Former Penn State football player Matthew Rice will unveil his newest piece of artwork, The Twelfth Man, Friday, August 29th at 5:30 p.m. inside the Penn State All-Sports Museum prior to the annual Football Eve celebration. In 2005, Rice's painting Blueprint became the 2005 Penn State football poster. Rice plans to complete three other Penn State pieces of art this season, including a portrait of Joe Paterno. Altoona.com & StateCollege.com, in partnership with the Bryce Jordan Center,
will host the 2008 Wedding Showcase Sunday, September 28th from
11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan
Center.
The show will feature numerous vendors, a fashion show,
live seminars, etc.
