2008 Wedding Showcase

The first annual 2008 Wedding Showcase will take place Sunday, September 28th from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.  The bridal show will be Central PA's largest show and will feature over 75 wedding vendors.  A fashion show will be held from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and will feature wedding attire from three different bridal shops in the area.  Numerous vendors will also be giving away wedding related door prizes at their booth.  Admission to the showcase is free for all pre-registerd brides.  Admission is $5 at the door for any additional guests and non-registered brides.   To pre-register and to view a floorplan of the event, visit, the offical website of the 2008 Wedding Showcase.

Rally in the Valley Football Pep Rally

The Blue & White Society and Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics will host the pep rally for the Nittany Lions before they take on Illinois.  The Penn State football team, the Blue Band, Nittany Lion, cheerleaders, and Coach Paterno will all participate in the pep rally.  Prior to the pep rally, the number one ranked Penn State women's volleyball team will play Purdue.  Admission into the pep rally is free.

Spring Creek Day Family Fesitval

The Spring Creek Day Family Festival, sponsored by ClearWater Conservancy & Centre Region Parks & Recreation, will take place Sunday, September 28th from Noon-5 p.m. at the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center in State College.  The family-oriented festival will feature live music, children's activities, artists in action, nature walks, hands-on science experiments, a turtle show presented by Shaver's Creek, scavenger hunts, face painting, cookie decorating, a basket raffle and more.  There will also be local food vendors such as Harner Farms (apples), Gemelli Bakers (rolls), The Company Grill (barbecue chicken), and DQ Grill & Chill (ice cream) at the festival.  Admission to the festival is free for all family members.  For a detailed listing of events and their times, visit the festival's website.
