Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting

The lighting of the annual Christmas tree in State College will take place in the evening on Thursday, November 20th at the Old Main Gates on South Allen Street.  The evening will feature holiday caroling, live reindeer, Santa Claus, the Nittany Lion Mascot, and holiday refreshments.  Remember to dress warm since many of the events will take place outside in downtown State College.  The event is free and is open to all families and inviduals in the area.

Tussey Mountain will be accepting used skiing and snowboard equipment for their annual sale.  Beginning skiers and snowboarders will be able to find skis, boots, goggles, snowboards, and gloves at discount prices.

Community Spotlight

A Book For Every Child, A Gift For All Seasons Campaign

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County (UUFCC) will kick off their twelfth year of providing books to disadvantaged children in Centre County.  On Sunday, November 16th, all Barnes & Noble stores in Pennsylvania will donate a portion of their profits to UUFCC.  Those interested in participating in the program must download a voucher from the UUFCC's website and present it to the cashier upon checking out at Barnes & Noble on Sunday.  The group's goal is to bring in $10,000 in voucher accompanied sales.
