Upgrades & Improvements for StateCollege.com in the New Year
The staff at StateCollege.com has been working hard over the past several weeks to add an array of new & interactive features to the website for the upcoming year.
According to Dan Myers, President of StateCollege.com, a mobile version of StateCollege.com is in the works. The iPhone version will be launched this week while Blackberry and standard mobile versions are in development. The mobile version will allow people to easily access the Movies Section, Bar Tour, weather forecasts, etc. right from their cell phones. For a preview of the mobile version of StateCollege.com, visit www.statecollege.com/iphone.
Visitors to the website may have already noticed the newly re-designed, interactive Bar Tour. The new Bar Tour lists nightly entertainment and drink specials and allows visitors to post comments and feedback about each individual bar. Visitors can also rate the local bars listed in the Bar Tour. The new design and layout is meant to welcome user feedback.
Upgrades to the StateCollege.com Auto Guide have also launched. Those searching for a new or used car in the area can still search cars by make, model and price through the Auto Guide. Besides the improved layout, advanced search options such as features, VIN number, color, engine, etc. are part of the search engine. A list of new and used car dealers, along with a map to their location, can be found in the Auto Guide. Additional car dealers are being added to the existing database.
Just in the time for the holiday movie season, StateCollege.com will be enhancing their Movies Section. Besides displaying dates and times for movies, visitors can click on the movie poster next to the movie to view a plot description, post and view comments about the movie, and read reviews of the movie. Similar to the Bar Tour, user feedback, comments, suggestions, etc. are a big part of the new StateCollege.com.
The Business Directory resource has added a new layout for driving directions to specific businesses. Visitors can click on the “map” feature and a map will open detailing the business’ location.
StateCollege.com's Music Page has a new layout with all of the area's local radio stations listed by category. Several stations have links posted where visitors can click to listen to that particular radio station live. The Soap Opera Page has a new layout where visitors can click on a particular day of the week to view that show's recap. Recaps are archived for a month in the new layout. The Horoscopes Page also has a new layout.
Finally, an upgraded Apartment Guide and search engine for apartments is currently being developed, an improved Lodging Guide and an improved Dining Guide are both in development.
Be sure to visit StateCollege.com regularly in the New Year to see all of our completed improvements!
