Upgrades & Improvements To StateCollege.com

StateCollege.com has continued to make improvements and upgrades in the new year.  A new and improved Community Calendar launched this week.  The Community Calendar has a new layout & design, a search engine to search events by category & keywords, and the ability to list events on a weekly or monthly basis.  To post an event on the new Community Calendar, simply click on Create Event in the upper right hand corner and log-in to StateCollege.com to post your event or activity.

The new Ride Board on StateCollege.com launched this week.  The new layout features listings of Wanted Rides & Available Rides and allows users to enter multiple stops and destinations along the way.  A map feature is available for users to map their drive.

Upgrades to the StateCollege.com Auto Guide have also launched.  Those searching for a new or used car in the area can still search cars by make, model and price through the Auto Guide.  Besides the improved layout, advanced search options such as features, VIN number, color, engine, etc. are part of the search engine.  Pictures of the cars can also be found next to the individual listings.  A list of new and used car dealers, along with a map to their location, can be found in the Auto Guide.

Free Winter Play Days

The State College Friends School will host three Free Winter Play Days for children and their families.  The first play date will be Saturday, January 10th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  The activity is open to children ages 3-8 and will feature organized games, crafts and more.  The remaining two play dates will be held at the same time on February 7th & 21st.  For more information regarding the event, please call 237-8386.

The Metropolitan Opera - Live In HD

The State Theatre will host another live opera simulcast in their popular Metropolitan Opera - Live In HD series Saturday, January 10th at 1 p.m.  The simulcast will be a new production of Puccini's La Rondine.  The running time of the performance is 2 hours and 15 minutes.  Tickets to the simulcast are $22/adult, $20/senior citizen, and $18 for Penn State students.
