Exploration Day

Exploration Day is a celebration of the spirit and opportunity of exploration and science at Penn State featuring interactive activities, multimedia presentations, student developed displays and activities, and planetarium shows. This year there will be a 50' scale model of the Space Shuttle and a possible rocket launch! Prizes awarded to all participants (K-12).

Saturday April 18th, 11 a.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.

State College Spikes Ticketpalooza

The State College Spikes will mark the first day of single-game ticket sales for the 2009 baseball season with the club’s annual “TicketPalooza” event on Saturday, April 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. A bevy of fun events, experiences and contests will highlight the day’s activities, including a first-of-its-kind Fan Home Run Derby Challenge and the team’s annual National Anthem Tryouts, free food and drinks, and other fun ballpark activities.

Bald Eagle Birding Festival

This celebration will host a variety of activities including live bird presentations, informative bird walks, binocular vendors, free door prizes, children’s crafts/activities, and eagle watching are a few of the things to experience at this festival. You can also learn about various birds species like the ruffed grouse and American woodcock through presentations from local conservation agencies.

Coaches vs. Cancer 5K Run/Walk

Join us for our 10th annual 5K race as we raise money in the fight against cancer! The course winds around Penn State's beautiful, hilly campus and passes sites like Beaver Stadium and the HUB. Runners will receive a t-shirt, race bag, a free spaghetti dinner the night before plus food and prizes on race day. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
