Happy Father's Day

This Sunday is Father's Day. It is a day of commemoration and celebration of Dad. It is a day to not only honor your father, but all men who have acted as a father figure in your life - whether as Stepfathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or "Big Brothers."  We here at have put together some things happening around the area that might interest you and Dad. Just make sure he gets to take a nap at some point. After all, it's Father's Day. (See guide here)

Read it, Watch it

It’s back! The State Theatre is excited to announce the return of the summer series “Read It, Watch It,” This year’s series will run every Wednesday at noon for eight weeks and feature a variety of classic and new children’s films that the young and young at heart will surely enjoy. Local charities will be featured each week and donations of canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected every week for the State College Food Bank. The series starts June 23 with Chicken Run (see full list of movies here)

Paterno Feeling Better by Adam Smeltz

Penn State football Coach Joe Paterno has returned to his office, though his doctor wants him to limit his travel for now, a spokesman reports. The coach has said that if this were the regular season, and if his team were prepping for an away game, he would be "ready to go tomorrow," more here

Bellefonte Cruise

The streets of Bellefonte will be open Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for the public to cruise like people used to do. After that a sock hop will be held on the diamond from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. On Saturday, stop downtown for the car, truck and motorcycle show. (more info)
