The Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair,
better known as "The Grange Fair," starts this week, August 26-September 2. The
Grange Fair is a city within a town, as campers "move into" the Grange
Park in Centre Hall to live for more than a week. From sunup to sundown, fair activities abound including The Van Dells, Steel Magnolia,
Hotel California, draft-horse shows, carnival rides, horseshoe pitching, a
queen contest, bake-sale auction, music shows, commercial exhibits, a livestock sale and, of course, great food! (more)
Penn State Football Eve
Penn State will kick off the 2010 campaign with "Penn State Football
Eve" on Friday, September 3. The seventh annual event starts the new
season with a festival-like atmosphere surrounding Beaver Stadium
followed by a celebration inside the stadium with the team and Coach Joe
Paterno. Kids games, food, surprises and music will all be part of the promenade. Penn State takes on Youngstown St. Saturday Sept. 4 at noon.(more)

2010 State College MicroBrew Expo
The Expo is Back! This Saturday at the Penn Stater from 2-6pm sample and learn more about local beer producers and production. The event will feature brewers from around the area and state. Tickets are $50 and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer (CVC) of Penn State program. (more)

Just Crowned, Miss Black USA Is A Penn Stater by Adam Smeltz
Penn State alumna Osas Ighodaro, well recognized as an actor in film and television, has been crowned Miss Black USA 2010. She has a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Penn State and is working on a masters in fine arts....read story here
The Rustlanders bring authentic jazz, roots, and blues to the Hiester
St. stage at 7 pm on September 2nd as part of the First Thursday
Concert Series. Opening for the Rustlanders will be Pure Cane Sugar.
Parking is free that evening at all municipal. Other events will take place throughout Downtown State College. (see all events here)
