The Centre County Grange Encampment and Fair,
better known as "The Grange Fair," starts this week, (Aug. 25-Sept. 1). The
Grange Fair is a city within a town, as campers "move into" the Grange
Park in Centre Hall to live for more than a week. From sunup to sundown,
fair activities abound including The McClymonts, Jim Ed Brown The Diamonds, draft-horse shows, carnival rides, tractor pulls,
queen contest, bake-sale auction, music shows, commercial exhibits, a
livestock sale and, of course, great food! (more info)
Aviation Awareness Day
Don't miss the 3rd annual Aviation Awareness Day at University Park Airport this Saturday (Aug. 27) 9:00 - noon. Lots of airplanes on display, free Young Eagles rides for kids 8-17. Come out and learn about general aviation activities and opportunities in the Centre Region. (more info)
Penn State Football Eve
Penn State will kick off the 2011 campaign with "Penn State Football
Eve" next Friday (Sept. 2). The eighth annual event starts the new
season with a festival-like atmosphere surrounding Beaver Stadium
followed by a celebration inside the stadium with the team and Coach Joe

Bike For Life: X-Game biking legend and State College resident Jamie Bestwick is
hosting several charity biking events featuring big-name stars this Sunday
at Tussey Mountain.
Earthquake '11: The 5.9-magnitude earthquake that originated near Washington, D.C., on
Tuesday was probably not strong enough to cause any building damage in
