2011 Wedding Showcase

The 2011 Wedding Showcase at the Bryce Jordan Center is this Sunday from 11:00am-3:00pm! You can pre-register for FREE online at!The Showcase will feature informative seminars from the area's most respected wedding experts plus an extravagant fashion show and over $10,000 in prizes including a dream gown giveaway and a $1,000 cash grand prize!

Admission is FREE to pre-registered brides and one guest!

Festival Sunday

There are a number of festivals happening this Sunday. In celebration of the International Year of Forests, the Penn State School of Forest Resources invites you to learn about our forests while enjoying free music, exhibits, and other activities from 10:00am-3:00pm at the Arboretum. (more) Shaver's Creek will be holding their annual Music Festival this Sunday (1:00pm) as well, featuring 3 local bands and local food vendors. Apple Harvest Festival and Car Show

The Milesburg Museum and Historical Society Apple Harvest Festival & Car Show will be held this Saturday, September 24th on Market Street in Milesburg from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a luncheon stand, homemade baked goods, apple dumplings, crafts and demonstrations. (more info)

Penn State Gameday Notes

Penn State (2-1) vs Eastern Michigan (2-1)

When: Saturday, Sept. 24
Where: Beaver Stadium
Kickoff: Noon

The Nittany Lions and Eagles are meeting for just the second time. Penn State won 52-7 in Beaver Stadium on Sept. 19, 1992.

ESPN2 will televise with Beth Mowins and Mike Bellotti.

Saturday’s EMU-PSU game is the second straight Big Ten Conference matchup for the Eagles and also PSU’s second against a Mid-American Conference opponent. Last weekend, the Eagles lost at Michigan, 31-3, while PSU posted a 14-10 come-from-behind win at MAC foe Temple.

Penn State has a 60-20 (75.0) record since the start of the 2005 season, tied with Oregon for the the nation's 11th-best winning percentage over the past seven seasons.
