Shaver's Creek Fall Festival
Shaver's Creek comes alive this weekend with a community
festival that includes the Children’s Halloween Trail, pumpkin carving,
face painting, music, the Harvest Baking Challenge, entertainment,
activities, natural history programs, and great food. Visitors enter the "non-scary" interpretive trail every half hour
beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Shaver's Creek Trail is truly a family
event! The theme for 2011 is Exploring the Night. Trail $5 for ages four and older, surrounding festival free. (more info)
Centre County Public Safety Training Center Haunted House
The second annual Safety Training Center Haunted House will start this Thursday and run through
Saturday, (6-11pm). All proceeds from the
Haunted House will benefit the Centre Communities Chapter of the
American Red Cross.
Note: not be suited for small children. (more info)
Punkin' Chunkin' Festival
This year's festival at Bald Eagle State Park includes live bands, square dancers, pie-eating
contest, hayrides and Punkin Chunkin. The only event in Centre and
Clinton Counties to feature Punkin' Chunkin'. Pumpkins will be launched
at targets floating in the lake! Free admission and parking. 10am-6pm. (more info)
Talking Trash: With no changes to the status quo, State College borough
refuse-collection rates will probably need to climb 6.75 percent in 2014
and 12.05 percent in 2015, according to borough data.

Central PA Regional Expo
The Central Pennsylvania Regional Business & Industry Expo
presented by 611 MRI/CT will be held on Thursday, November 3, at the
Bryce Jordan Center. This event will provide Chamber members the
opportunity to promote their products and services to consumers, business owners and entrepreneurs from throughout the region. It is free to attend the Expo and
