2011 Tree Lighting
Kick off the holiday
season on Allen Street, next Thursday from 5:30-7 p.m. with a free evening of carols,
cookies and hot
chocolate. Come listen to Mrs. Claus read a story and welcome Santa as
arrives to light the tree. Also, give the gift of giving by bringing a
toy to donate to Toys for Tots or a canned good item for the State
College Food Bank. Children, ages 12 and under, who donate will be
entered to win a chance to light the tree with Santa! (more info)

Kids can stop by WPSU-TV for a dog-gone good time at WPSU’s
Eventapalooza this Sunday (Nov. 13) in Innovation Park. PBS characters,
The Cat in the Hat and Clifford the Big Red Dog, will be
making special appearances throughout the day while you try “cat-astic”
science experiments, make a craft, and meet real working-dog heroes
along with other activities. Support local animal rescues and shelters
by bringing a pet food donation to the event. (more info)
Paterno Retirement: In wake of allegations against his former assistant coach Jerry
Sandusky, Joe Paterno announces the 2011 season will be his last as Penn
State's football coach.
Election Results: Steve Dershem, Chris Exarchos and Michael Pipe will form the Centre

Curley Still Getting Paid: Penn State athletic director Tim Curley, on administrative leave as he
faces criminal charges, is being paid while he is on that leave, a

country in defense of the nation. Their service is highlighted through
exhibits and artifacts that are documented by the museum's excellent
