National Get Outdoors Day

National Get Outdoors Day is this Saturday, June 9. This is a new annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. The prime goals of the day are reaching first-time visitors to public lands and reconnecting our youth to the great outdoors. You can find great outdoor events on our community calendar. Both Black Moshannon and Bald Eagle State Parks have fantastic family events this weekend.

Flag Day Celebration

The State College Elks Lodge and local veterans organizations will sponsor a joint Flag Day Service and U.S. Flag Retirement Ceremony on the grounds of the 28th Division Shrine in Boalsburg. The public is encouraged to bring their unserviceable American Flags for the proper disposal. Free Admission 6:00 p.m. (more info)
