Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts

State College is abuzz with activity this weekend. The Arts Festival has returned and will bring over 125,000 people to downtown State College and the University Park campus.  Come celebrate the arts with the nationally recognized sidewalk sale and exhibition, sand sculpture, great music, theatrical performances, children activities and all sorts of food choices!

People's Choice Festival

While at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts don't forget to stop over in Boalsburg for the People's Choice Festival. This annual arts festival features some of the very best of Pennsylvania artisans. Food, fun and family entertainment in a park-like setting on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum. AstroFest 2012

Looking for something to do after the Arts Festival winds down? AstroFest will run during the Arts Festival 8:30 to 11:30 pm at Davey Lab through Saturday. Astronomy crafts, demonstrations, planetarium shows, rooftop stargazing, 3D tours of Mars, the Milky Way, and the universe and activities for children of all ages will be featured. (see more info)

Community Spotlight


Schlow Centre Region Library’s parking lot will once again host BookFestPA’s lively Book Tent. Familiar faces like Kieryn Nicolas, Ken Hull, John Carr, Jeffrey Frazier, David Pencek, Jodi Moore as well as new local authors, including Andrea Adams and John Poorman, will share their stories and sign their books. The BookFest tent will be open for book sales, signings, and a chance to meet your favorite local (and not so local) authors Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
