Ag Progress Days

Ag Progress Days, Pennsylvania's largest outdoor agricultural exposition, will return for its annual three-day run, Aug. 14-16. Sponsored by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences, the event is held at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs, nine miles southwest of State College on Pa. Route 45. Free admission and parking. With over 400 exhibitors from 31 states and 4 provinces of Canada, they have something for everyone. (more info)

Reptile and Amphibian Day

Have fun this Saturday at Reptile and Amphibian Day at Black Moshannon Park. Join the guest speakers and Black Moshannon State Park for a fun-filled day of nothing but reptiles and amphibians. See some of Pennsylvania's snakes, try to catch frogs, toads and salamanders in the lake and on land and make a craft to take home with you. Stick around for the Perseids Meteor Shower in the evening. (more info)



Brew Expo

This festival was one of the best in the United States for 13 years! Now it is back for 2012 at the Tussey Moutain Ski Resort this Saturday, August 11th. The expo will be one session from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The expo will continue to benefit Penn State Coaches vs. Cancer. Over 50 breweries, live music and food vendors will all be on hand. You'll see diversified fruit and vegetable farms, you'll get up close to all kinds of animals - horses, pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, donkeys, and more! See up close what it takes to make cheese or process chickens to be ready for your table. Most importantly, bring along a cooler so you can take home ingredients for a fresh-from-the-farm meal.
