10th annual New Faces of an Ancient People Indian Powwow

The annual Powwow is this weekend (4/6-7) at the Mount Nittany Middle School.The powwow is free and open to the public and families are encouraged to attend. The powwow runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Enjoy American Indian dancers and Native Drum Groups, vendors, food and much more. The Grand Entry of Dancers begins at noon and is held again at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and only at noon on Sunday. Free and open to public, families encouraged to attend. (more info)

Minerals Junior Education Day

Minerals Junior Education Day is fun and rewarding for students in grades 1-8 and their parents. They will learn about minerals, crystals, gems, and fossils. Starts Saturday at 9:30 am in the Boalsburg Fire Hall. Stations will include: gold panning, fossils, iron minerals and making, rock sphere grinding, and more. Plus a sales table at child-friendly prices! Pre-registration is recommended. (more details)

Easter Egg Hunt and Benefit BBQ

Easter may be over, but fun continues. This Saturday at Spring Creek Park, have an amazing day of games, live music and activities--including a kid's choice bike show. Enjoy a hunt of 12000 eggs and have lots of games and prizes. There will also be a Benefit BBQ for the family of a 1-year-old girl from State College with a heart condition. 100% of profits from the barbecue will assist her family with transportation, travel, and other expenses. This event is free but the bbq does have a cost it will consist of Hamburgers and Hotdogs, potato salad, beans, sides and drinks. (more info)
