14th Annual DownTown Fall Festival

The DownTown Fall Festival this Saturday (10am-3pm) is filled with fun for the whole family, from alpacas to pumpkins, carousels to pony rides - there's so much to do!   Kids will love to decorate pumpkins and visit a variety of activity booths sponsored by various community organizations. Don't forget to stop in at the Community Resources Fair in the Municipal Building to see some of the amazing things we have available in the Centre Region.  And finish the day out by tasting some of the best desserts in Happy Valley.  Come down to Allen Street and join in the fun! Great Insect Fair

What's the difference between a moth and a butterfly? Why do they fly by night? Find out the answers to these and all your questions about moths and other six-legged critters at Penn State's annual Great Insect Fair this Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center. Some events include cockroach races, insect petting zoo, insect deli, bee observation hives and a Build-A-Bug competition. The Insect Deli will also be open with tasty treats like Meal Worm Roll-ups, BBQ Veggies with wax moth larvae and more. (more)

Boalsburg Heritage Festival

Celebrate Boalsburg's birthday this Sunday with a community celebration! Music, food, crafts and more!  Make plans to visit this festival celebrating Boalsburg's unique link with Columbus and featuring ethnic crafts, food and live music. The festival is all free, including the wagon rides, and takes place on the diamond in Boalsburg at Church and Main Streets this Sunday, from Noon to 4 pm. (more info)
