Garden Fair & Plant Sale

The Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Centre County are hosting a regional Garden Fair & Plant Sale this Saturday. May 17, from 9am to 3pm at Ag Progress Days Site. The Garden Fair will feature many vendor booths, exhibits and demonstrations, gardening talks and a rain barrel workshop. The Pasto Ag Museum will be open for free tours. The Plant Sale will feature thousands of potted plants including perennials, annuals, herbs, houseplants, vegetables, noteworthy plants, pollinator and native plants, and others. Parking and admission are free. (more info)

Big Spring Festival

The Big Spring Festival takes place this Sunday at Talleyrand Park and celebrates our bountiful supply of water with entertainment, water sports, crafts, fish stocking of Spring Creek and more. Activities will go on all afternoon courtesy of Kayaking Tussey Mountain Outfitters, Children’s Activities Sponsored By The Youth Service Bureau, Food Vendors will be on hand and Non Profit Group Activities & Fundraisers will be part of the day. Central PA Trails Day

Enjoy a day of outdoor activity for adventurers of all ages this Saturday at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center. Bring your family, friends, and hiking boots. Free games, activities, and demonstrations will be held on the lawn of Shaver's Creek. Drop by to learn about Dutch oven cooking, fly tying, primitive firemaking, and more. Guided, group expeditions held throughout the day will include more formal instruction. Expeditions will include outdoor yoga, backpacking, a forest walk, children's programming, and Leave No Trace training. (more info)
