Wild About Animals
The annual "Wild About Animals" event is this Saturday, April 4th. 10 am - 3 pm at the Snider Ag Arena. This event is an animal expo, outreach and educational event attended by 2000-3000 people. It features a variety of animal-related organizations such as veterinarians, rescue groups, a petting zoo, environmental groups, etc. with an emphasis on education and outreach. Among the events scheduled are a silent auction, Easter games (with free prizes) in the children's section, educational programs, pony rides and lots of interesting animals such as dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, hawks, owls, chickens and livestock. Pony Rides, Face painting, Balloons, Carnival games, crafts provided by Lincoln Caverns and free candy from the Easter Bunny. (more info)
Minerals Junior Education Day
Minerals Junior Education Day is fun and rewarding for students in grades 1-8 and their parents. They will learn about minerals, crystals, gems, and fossils. There are various starting time slots available NEXT Saturday (4/11) at the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology. Stations will include: gold panning, fossils, gemstone identification and more. PLEASE REGISTER in advance by April 6. (more details)
